  • Advanced Networking
    • With over 40 years of experience, Raytheon BBN leads advances in networking. Our wireless solutions combine scalability, mobility, and quality-of-service to deliver advanced, reliable networking in the most challenging environments.

      Current projects include:
      Wireless Network After Next, Disruption Tolerant Networks, Low Energy Ad Hoc Networking, K-Node Testbed, Underwater Networks and Optical Networks.
  • AVOKE® Caller Experience Analytics
    • AVOKE Caller Experience Analytics is a part of Raytheon BBN’s Delta Division, whose charter is to apply BBN’s technology and expertise to solve problems and add value in new markets. We are leveraging 30 years of BBN research in speech recognition, language processing and call center optimization to develop an innovative new analytics solution. Our mission is to make call centers satisfying for callers and efficient for the companies that operate them.

  • Boomerang Shooter Detection System
    • The Boomerang shooter detection system saves lives by pinpointing the source of incoming small arms fire. Boomerang is available to U.S. military, law-enforcement agencies, municipalities, and to other approved U.S. domestic and foreign entities. Government contractors can incorporate Boomerang into their systems or platforms.

  • Disruptive Information Processing Technologies
    • We are developing next generation communication and computation systems using disruptive technologies. With an emphasis on quantum and optical techniques, we are developing integrated solutions, from the physical layer to applications.

      Current projects include:
      Superconducting and optical labs, long-lifetime quantum memories and protocols for decoherence-free sub-space (DFS) photonic qubit encoding.
  • Cyber Security
    • Through advanced research, intelligent middleware, comprehensive semantics, knowledge modeling, and sophisticated data management, Raytheon BBN develops advanced concepts and prototypes, and provides expert consultation on the collection, storage, analysis, retrieval, and security of information in critical and complex data environments.

      Current projects include:
      Secure BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), Cyber Situation Awareness, and National Signatures Program.
  • GENI - Global Environment for Network Innovations
    • GENI, the Global Environment for Network Innovations, is a unique virtual laboratory for at-scale networking experimentation for future internets. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, GENI opens up opportunities for researchers to understand global networks and their evolving interactions with society, innovate at the frontiers of network science and engineering, and transform the science of network research and the larger world of communications. The National Science Foundation chose Raytheon BBN Technologies to operate the GENI Program office, which is responsible for project management and system engineering. In this role, Raytheon BBN is coordinating an unprecedented collaboration between industry and academia, bringing together researchers from diverse backgrounds to work together to transform research and accelerate the potential for ground-breaking innovations in global networking.

  • Information & Knowledge Technologies
    • Research, development, and advanced proof-of-concept prototyping produce real solutions for complex logistics, transportation, and immersive learning.

      Current projects include:
      Artificial Intelligence, Large-Scale Transportation Modeling & Capacity Assessment, Real-Time Training Systems, Leadership and Team Interaction Simulations.
  • Speech & Language Technologies
    • Raytheon BBN advances the state-of-the-art in speech and natural language processing through the development of novel algorithms and techniques and creates custom solutions in translation, language understanding, and document/image analysis.

      Current projects include:
      TransTalk, BBN Broadcast Monitoring System, GALE, Speech-to-Speech Translation, Machine Translation, and Foreign Broadcast Monitoring.
  • Sensor Systems
    • Raytheon BBN prototypes complex physical phenomena and develops technologies used in environmental modeling and underwater acoustics.

      Current projects include:
      Counter Shooter Technology (Sniper Detection), Infrastructure Protection Using Sensors and Seismic & Acoustic Vibration Imaging.
