Where Wizards Work: BBN Technologies Announces Key Promotions
Cambridge, Mass., August 9, 2005 — BBN Technologies, an advanced technology and research and development firm, announced today that two researchers have been promoted for their leadership and ground-breaking contributions in their respective fields.
Ram Ramanathan has been promoted to Principal Scientist "for leadership and ground-breaking contributions to mobile ad hoc networking" in recognition of his contributions to networking with directional antennas, large-scale ad hoc networks, and multimedia support over large-scale ad hoc networks. Since joining BBN in 1992, he has focused on topology control and scalable routing, developing a number of widely-cited solutions.
John Lowry has been promoted to Principal Engineer "for technical leadership and contributions to security technology." Lowry joined BBN in 1984 and is currently the Technical Director for the Decision & Security Technologies department. He has helped to shape the government's investment in information security technologies and define a science-based implementation process for emerging technologies.
