Artificial Communications for Immersive Training
BBN has technology for both human-to-machine voice communcations and human-to-human communications in immersive training environments.
- Human-to-Machine Voice Communications - BBN has employed its voice-recognition technology in several projects, including the COVE and the AWACS Air Weapons Officer project.
- In COVE, the trainee speaks commands just as he or she would on the bridge of a Navy ship, and the simulation responds in kind.
- The AWACS Air Weapons Officer project recreated the world of the AWACS Weapons Director communicating with simulated F-15 and F-16 pilots. Like COVE, the trainee uses voice commands to interact with the computer-generated forces.
- Human-to-Human Communications - BBNTalk™ comprises a flexible and scalable, multi-user VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) conversation-collaboration system that you can use by itself or in conjunction with other multi-user systems. Define discrete conversation groups, join one or more groups, speak to just one group from among many: BBNTalk remains flexible and reliable.
